On September 8, 2010, the winners of the 10th Guangdong Governor Cup Industrial Design Competition were announced. The project “Integration of Two Industries, the Future is Here - Building an Ecological Industry Chain of Robot Food and Beverage with Design Thinking” by Qianxi Robotics Group won the Gold Award in the Industrial Design Group out of nearly 34,000 entries.
As the highest-level government design award in Guangdong Province, the Gornernor Cup Industrial Design Competition is one of the earliest and most influential industrial design competitions in China. This honor signifies that Country Garden's exploration and fruitful achievements in the field of high-tech food and beverage robots have been recognized by both the government and industry experts, and has greatly enhanced the popularity and brand reputation of the Group.
This competition was launched in June and divided into three categories: Product Design, Concept Design and Industrial Design. 33,972 entries were collected from 15 regions throughout the nation, and 797 works were selected for the final round after the preliminary and semi-final rounds. Liu Guanzhong, the "Father of China's Industrial Design" and a famous professor from Tsinghua University, was the director of the judging committee, which consisted of 35 senior experts to evaluate the finalists.
Among the 42 finalists in the Industrial Design Group, the participants included local governments, professional industrial design schools, and well-known enterprises at home and abroad, forming multitude of strong. Following the voting and scoring by the experts, 27 works entered the closed defense on August 24.
Associate Prof. Yan Weixin, Deputy General Manager, Dr. Xiao Ran, and Dr. Li Wei, Head of R&D Department of Youbisheng, participated in the final competition. The three doctors made in-depth presentations on the originality, fruitful achievements and social value of the whole industry chain of robot catering, and answered the questions of the expert judges in tacit cooperation, and entered the public defense of the final competition on the 25th with 14 other entries.
The competition in this section was even more fierce, with several highly-rated teams, including deputy mayors and professors of industrial design, assigning their significant person to present and defend their proposals. Our three-member team won the gold award for their logical and precise presentation of the proposal and their clear and accurate responses to the experts' questions. Among the projects that won the Top 3 prizes in the Industrial Group, QIANXI GROUP is the only private enterprise, and also the only single enterprise to participate in the competition, which is particularly valuable.
The competition, with the theme of "Design Empowering Industry", provides strong support for building a strong manufacturing province. The Industrial Design Group aims at industrial innovation and industrial upgrading, and honors system solutions, new production and service models and basic research projects that embody the concept of "prioritizing design with technology collaboration as well as taking user experience as the core".
Through intelligent means, QIANXI GROUP takes robots as the carrier of food and beverage standards, and forms a whole industrial chain system covering production, supply chain and operation based on the independent R&D, promoting the upgrading of food and beverage industry and services.
Live demonstration and experience of the mini ice-cream robot
